Position Summary:
As a Collections Specialist at Axia Residential, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our community by managing and overseeing rent collections, resolving delinquent accounts, and maintaining positive resident relations. Your efforts will support the property’s operational efficiency, contribute to resident satisfaction, and uphold our commitment to financial integrity and professionalism.
You will work closely with the property management and accounting teams to make sure rent payments are timely and help with billing inquiries. Your focus will be on minimizing delinquencies and helping our residents navigate payment issues smoothly.

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in collections, preferably in multifamily housing or real estate.
  • Knowledge of collection practices, including compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software (e.g., Yardi, RealPage, AppFolio).
  • Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of accounts.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in an office environment and remain seated for extended periods.
  • Occasional need to lift up to 25 lbs and perform light physical tasks related to property management.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collections & Account Management
    • Proactively contact residents to resolve outstanding rent payments through knocking on doors, phone calls, emails, and written communication.
    • Maintain accurate records of payment activity, account status, and collection efforts.
    • Assist residents in setting up payment plans and processing payments.
    • Send late notices and follow up on overdue accounts as needed.
    • Communicate with residents to resolve billing issues and answer inquiries.
  • Resident Interaction & Relations
    • Foster positive relationships with residents by being responsive, understanding, and professional.
    • Work with residents to prevent payment issues and resources and aid with financial hardships when applicable.
    • Provide updates on the status of accounts to the property management team.
  • Administrative Support & Reporting
    • Prepare and maintain reports related to delinquent accounts, collection status, and payment trends.
    • Notify the Community Manager and the Regional Director of major issues needing escalation.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local collection laws and property policies.
Compensation: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
